Walter Badet Horsemanship Clinic for
Volunteers - Feb 2009
AERO's trainer, Walter Badet, generously offers his time to
have volunteers practice horse handling and work through problem behaviors with
the rescue horses at no charge to the rescue. We can't thank Walter enough
for helping us in this way and the people who join us always have a good time!
Trail Trials Clinic
- Jan 3, 2009
Star Thornton, Randy and Tammy Sandidge and many other
volunteers made this day a wonderful fundraising success and we all had fun on
our horses to boot!
Large Animal Rescue Training - Fall 2008
This training is for first responders and concerned
citizens to learn how to rescue horses from emergency situations. The
pictures below are on the second day of hands on exercises where trailers are
tipped and mannequins are placed into various places for students to practice
rescuing a horse! Special thanks to the City of Surprise Fire Department
for hosting this important training.
December 2004 Clinic
We had a great time in our
Basics of Horse Interactions workshop in December and we had a
great mix of attendees ranging from adults to youth. The
workshop took the attendees through how a horse responds to its
environment based on its inherent "herd mentality" and Soleil
reminded us that asking a horse to trust a person is like asking a
rabbit to trust a wolf! We also had each attendee work one-on-one
with the herd and through their body language, each person was able
to have the herd respond to their command without resorting to
verbal or physical action. It was spectacular to see a young
girl barely 4-feet tall take command of 1,000 pound horses!
Thanks to our volunteers for making the clinic a success!

June 2004 Clinic
AERO
loaned horses and facilities to Tina Luddy of Entelegy
Associates for her to conduct her
pilot
clinic. The objective of the
clinic was to give each participant insight into relationship and leadership skills while working with the horses. The participants
told us it was a great success and an experience they will never forget! Special thanks to all who helped make the event possible!
